The Workgroup for Organic Chemistry of the Austrian Chemical Society (GÖCH) cordially invites you to the fifth Adolf Lieben Lectureship which will be held in March/April 2020.
Named after one of the Austrian pioneers in organic chemistry, this annual lecture series brings some of the most innovative organic chemists to Austria to deliver seminars.
Adolf Lieben Lecturer 2020
Our lecturer 2020 is Prof. Ilan Marek from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Born in Haifa (Israel), Prof. Marek studied chemistry at the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, where he obtained his PhD with Prof. Normant. Following a Post-Doctoral stay at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve with Prof. Ghosez, he started his independent career as a Charge de recherche at the CNRS, Universite Pierre et Marie Curie in 1990. In 1997 he moved to Israel, starting as an Assistant Prof. at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, where he soon rose through the ranks and became a Full Professor in 2004.
