Board meeting

Report on the meeting of the GDCh Board of Directors on December 8, 2021

The last meeting of a year of the Executive Board of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker traditionally takes place at the invitation of a member company at its site. Last year, the Board had been invited to Weinheim by GDCh partner publisher Wiley-VCH, which had been founded in 1921 as Verlag Chemie by the predecessor organizations of GDCh and VCI and was celebrating its 100th anniversary. But unfortunately the Corona pandemic did not stop at this special occasion and a physical meeting was not possible. Therefore, this meeting, like all the others this year and last, had to be held as a video conference.

At the beginning of the meeting at 1 p.m., GDCh President Peter R. Schreiner welcomed the participants and in particular the attending representatives of our close partner organizations, the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry (DBG), the Conference of the Departments of Chemistry (KFC) and the Fachbereichstag Angewandte Chemie und Chemieingenieurwesen (FACh), Dr. Florian Budde, Prof. Andreas Terfort and Prof. Michael Groteklaes.
